Skype for Business Audio drops to zero while receiving / unpausing the calls (2151080)

Symptoms

  • The audio in the Skype for Business App drops to zero when a call is received. User has to manually increase the volume.
  • Audio volume drops to zero even when a call is kept on hold and then its released from hold.
  • This issue is observed only under PCoIP and Blast protocols. When connected using RDP, no issues are observed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue perform following steps.

  1. In view desktop where this issue is observed, log in as administrator and open registry editor ( regedit ). 
  2. Navigate to this location :

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\UCCPlatform\Lync\AudioRender\Speakers (VMware Virtual Audio (DevTap))

  3.  Delete the DWORD key namely DefaultVolume.
