Configuring log rotation for Health Service in vRealize Automation 7.3 (2151693)

This article provides steps to configure the log rotation and move the logs off of the root partition making the virtual appliance more resilient in the VMware vRealize Automation appliance for Health Service.


To configure the log rotation for health service:
  1. Download the file attached to this article.

  2. Unzip and extract file to get the vrhb-service and vrhb.lrfiles.

  3. Upload the file to vRealize Automation Appliance to /etc/logrotate.d directory.

  4. Upload the vrhb-service.txt file to /var/lib/vrhb/vrhb-service.

  5. Ensure that the permissions on /var/lib/vrhb/vrhb-service are 755.

  6. Restart the vrhb-service by running /etc/init.d./vrhb-service stop followed by /etc/init.d./vrhb-service start
Run these commands:

  2. unzip /tmp/

  3. cp /tmp/vrhb-service.txt /var/lib/vrhb/vrhb-service

  4. chmod 755 /var/lib/vrhb/vrhb-service

  5. cp /tmp/ /etc/logrotate.d

  6. /etc/init.d./vrhb-service stop

  7. /etc/init.d./vrhb-service start
