  • 1 Ratings

  • Unable to Add/View Permissions when logged in as a domain user with Administrator privileges.

  • Permission Tab shows empty for any Object in vCenter Inventory.

  • When try to add the permission, you may get a similar error:

The "Add Permission" operation failed for the entity with the following error message. Provider method implementation threw unexpected exception: %s.

  • Adding the domain user to Administrator group in vsphere.local domain or in Global Permissions does not help.

  • The issue is noticed only when Identity Source is added as: Active Directory(Integrated Windows Authentication).

  • The issue is not noticed when Identity Source is added as: Active Directory as an LDAP server.

This is a known issue.

Currently, there is no resolution.

To workaround the issue, add Identity Source as: Active Directory as an LDAP server.
