The vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon desktop agent (V4PA) may cause virtual machine unstable due to the memory leak (2151026)

  • 0 Ratings

Symptoms

  • VDI machine becomes unstable or may crash due to lack of memory
  • The symptoms may include:
    • The VDI machine may stop functioning and may not communicate with the network.
    • The VDI machine may hang without any error message.

Cause

Desktop Agent (v4pa_agent) consumes a lot of memory causing the memory leak because all the handles exist on the handle table of vp4a_agent.exe

Resolution

This issue is resolved in the Desktop agent with vRealize Operations for Horizon 6.4, available at VMware downloads. The vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon desktop agent (V4PA) 6.4 is bundled with Horizon agent 6.2.4 later and 7.0.3 later.
The workaround for this issue is to disable VMware Realize Operations for Horizon Desktop Agent  service if  vRealize Operations for Horizon View is not used.
