  • 0 Ratings

Purpose

This article provides the steps to disable the network connection of a FLEX VM when the VM is running in offline mode to ensure that the administrator has graceful control on the VM network of the offline users.

Resolution

For security reason, you may want to disable the network connection of the FLEX virtual machine if the VM is running in offline mode. In addition, you might want to the network connection of VM to be enabled automatically after the host machine connects to FLEX server. This feature is only available in Horizon FLEX 1.10 and later.

To disable Virtual Machine Network during Offline Mode:
  1. On the FLEX server (Mirage Web Server), go to C:\Program Files\Wanova\Rvm\web.config and set the DisableVNicInOfflineEnabled to “true”. When this field is enabled, the setting Disable networking when the user is working during the grace period between policy updates is visible in the FLEX admin console.
  2. Log out then login to the FLEX admin console.
  3. Create a new policy or open an existing policy.
  4. Check if the Disable networking when the user is working during the grace period between policy updates settings is visible on the Edit Policy page.
After the host machine connects to FLEX server, the network connection of VM will recover automatically.
