Horizon Client for Linux crashed after the remote session is disconnected (2150472)

  • 0 Ratings

If the Horizon Client for Linux is installed with the USB component, but the Register and start installed service(s) after the installation is not selected at the last step of the Horizon Client bundle installation, the USB daemon is not started. As a result, when a remote desktop session is disconnected, the Horizon Client for Linux crashes.

If USB component is selected during installation, ensure that the Register and start installed service(s) after the installation check box is selected at the last step of bundle installation.

If you are using the .tar files to install the USB component, use the following steps:
  1. Extract the .tar files in their designated directories.

    Copy to /etc/init.d

    Copy to /usr/bin

    Copy to /usr/lib

  2. Use one of the following methods to start the USB daemon automatically:
    • Execute the following command to create one or more symbolic links, where # refers to runlevel 2, 3, 4, and 5 depending on your Linux distribution.

      sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/vmware-USBArbitrator /etc/rc#.d/S50vmware-USBArbitrator

    • Add /etc/init.d/vmware-USBArbitrator start in /etc/rc.local file. Make sure the rc.local file has the appropriate executable permission.

  3. Execute the following command twice to create two symbolic links to the USB arbitrator daemon, vmware-USBArbitrator, to automatically stop the USB daemon before system reboot or halt. Use 0 and then 6 for the # variable when creating the two links.
    $ sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/vmware-USBArbitrator /etc/rc#.d/K08vmware-USBArbitrator
