VIO Instances loses floating IPs when router_type Is changed (2150356)

  • 0 Ratings

Symptoms

  • Floating IPs are not retained when changing a Centralized router from router_type Shared to router_type Exclusive.
  • This occurs when the router_type change is performed from the Horizon dashboard or if changed using CLI tools.
  • The neutron-server.log file show the change was successful and no errors.

Cause

The NAT rules are not being copied to the new exclusive router edge configuration mapping in neutron.

No errors are logged due to not being caused by an error type condition. If the neutron-server.log file contains logging errors or back traces then this article does not apply. Any errors will need additional troubleshooting.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution.

VMware is working to resolve this issue in future releases.

To restore floating IPs, change the router_type back to Shared.
