SSL VPN fails when using Mac OS Sierra or El Capitan on NSX (2150054)

Symptoms

On an NSX for vSphere 6.3.x environment with SSL VPN configured and enabled, you experience these symptoms:
  • SSL VPN fails on a Mac OS Sierra or El Capitan
  • Windows based machines are not affected
  • You see the error:

    Connection to the gateway has been terminated due to server certificate validation failure.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting NSX for vSphere 6.3.1 when using SSL VPN with Mac OS Sierra or El Capitan.

Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around this issue, disable Block user on certificate validation feature when creating the Installation Package.
