Summaries and Symptoms

This patch updates the esx-base, vsan, vsanhealth VIBs to resolve the following issues:

  • VMware Tools is updated to version 10.1.5. For more information, see the VMware Tools 10.1.5 Release Notes.
    VMware Tools 10.1.5 addresses security issues in Open Source Components.
    This resolved issue is also present in KB 2149961.

  • The OpenSSL package is updated to version openssl-1.0.2k to resolve CVE-2017-3731, CVE-2017-3730, CVE-2017-3732, and CVE-2016-7055.
  • Python is updated to version 2.7.13 to resolve CVE-2016-2183 and CVE-2016-1000110.

Patch Download and Installation

ESXi hosts can be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the VMware download page and installing the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command.
