Unable to delete generated Dashboards in vRealize Operations Manager 6.x Standard (2149720)

  • 0 Ratings

Symptoms

When running vRealize Operations Manager (vROPS) 6.x Standard Edition, you experience these symptoms:

  • A dashboard is generated from a metric chart under All Metrics
  • Unable to delete generated dashboards.

Cause

The Standard Edition of vRealize Operations Manager 6.x does not include the ability to create, delete or edit dashboards.
If a dashboard is generated from a metric chart under All Metrics, the generated dashboard cannot be deleted afterwards.

Resolution

This is a known issue in vRealize Operations Manager 6.x. Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around this issue, delete the dashboards from the command line:

  1. Log in to the Master node as root via SSH or Console.

  2. Navigate to the /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/tools/opscli directory.

  3. Run the following command to delete the dashboard:

    ./ops-cli.sh dashboard delete username dashboard_name

Note: Where username is the name of the user that generated the dashboard and replace dashboard_name with the name of the generated dashboard.
For example: ./ops-cli.sh dashboard delete admin 'VM Metric Dashboard'
