vCloud Director 8.20 and vCloud Usage Meter 3.5.0 TLS compatibility (2149204)

  • 1 Ratings

Usage meter 3.5.0 does not communicate with vCloud Director 8.20. The resulting error is related to TLS encryption:

vCloud Director, Hostname:, Message: Unable to get vCloud Director auth token: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: https://[FQDN or IP of vCloud Director]:443/api/sessions

Note: By default, vCloud Director 8.20 uses TLS 1.1/1.2.
Caution: Before deploying vCloud Director 8.20 in production, you must ensure that it works properly with vCloud Usage Meter.

To use vCloud Director 8.20 with vCloud Usage Meter 3.5, you must turn on TLS 1.0 mode in vCloud Director.

For more information see:

For example:

./cell-management-tool ssl-protocols -d SSLv3,SSLv2Hello

Note: You must re-start the cell after running ssl-protocols --disallow or ssl-protocols reset.
