Email notifications are not being sent to group ID in vRA (2149191)

Symptoms

Email notifications are not being sent to group ID in vRealize Automation.

Cause

This issue occurs because the notification service in vRealize Automation only recognizes principal IDs and not group IDs. 

Resolution

To workaround this issue:
 
Create an email distribution list and assign it to a local user. This user can then be applied to the business group manager role or other roles designated for notifications. The notifications will be sent to the assigned distribution list
