"Internal server error has occurred" when editing an NSX Edge (2148173)

Symptoms

  • Adding or editing an interface to NSX Edge, you may see error similar to:
    Internal server error has occurred.

  • In the NSX Manager logs, you may see entries similar to:

    ERROR TaskFrameworkExecutor-20 VSMAgentStateUpdater$VSMAgentStateUpdaterPerDeploymentUnit:578 - error while scanning for new agents for deployment unit deploymentunit-1 com.vmware.vim.binding.eam.fault.NoConnectionToVCenter: inherited from com.vmware.vim.binding.eam.fault.EamRuntimeFault: inherited from com.vmware.vim.binding.eam.fault.NoConnectionToVCenter

Cause

This issue occurs due to communication issues between EAM service and vCenter.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting NSX for vSphere 6.2.x.

Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around this issue, restart the EAM service on vCenter Server.
