vSphere tags missing in vRealize Operations Manager after migrating vSphere 6.0 Windows to 6.5 vCSA (2147494)

  • 0 Ratings

Symptoms

  • Previous vSphere tags are missing in vRealize Operations Manager.
  • New vSphere tags do not appear in vRealize Operations Manager.

Purpose

To resolve this issue, restart the vSphere adapter instance.

Cause

This issue occurs because VMware vSphere solution in vRealize Operations Manager does not detect the migration of vCenter Server 6.0 to the vCenter Server Appliance. When the VMware vSphere adapter instance is stopped and started, it will recheck the vCenter version at start up and recollect the tags.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, stop and start the VMware vSphere adapter instance.

To stop and start the adapter instance:

  1. Log in to the vRealize Operations Manager UI as the admin user.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Solutions.
  3. Select the VMware vSphere solution in the top pane.
  4. Select the VMware vSphere adapter instance in the bottom pane.
  5. Click Stop Collecting.

Note: Wait for Collection Status to read Not Collecting.

  6. Click Start Collecting.

Note: Wait for Collection Status to read Collecting, and Collection Status to read Data receiving.
vSphere tags should show up in vRealize Operations Manager within the next few collection cycles.
