Summaries and Symptoms

This patch updates the esx-base, vsanhealth, andvsan VIBs to resolve the following issues:

  • When you upgrade an ESXi host, which does not have the SSL certificate available, to ESXi Patch Release, ESXi600-201611001, and then add the SSL certificate, you will need restart the Syslog service manually by executing the following command:

    esxcli system syslog reload

  • The ECDHE cipher suite is enabled by default for the iofiltervp service.

  • The OpenSSL library is updated to version 1.0.1t.

  • The libPNG library is updated to libpng-1.6.24.

  • The ESXi userworld libxml2 library is updated to version 2.9.4.

  • The ESXi NTP package is updated to version 4.2.8p8.

  • The OpenSSH version is updated to 7.3p1.

  • The third-party Python library is updated to version 2.7.12.

Patch Download and Installation

ESXi hosts can be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the VMware download page and installing the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command.
