Installing the VMware vRealize Automation on a distributed multi-site instance (2134842)

  • 5 Ratings

Purpose

This article provides information on supportability for installing the VMware vRealize Automation on a distributed multi-site model.

Resolution

While VMware supports a multi-site deployment, VMware vRealize Automation assumes a low latency, high bandwidth environment for Core Components (<5ms Latency, 1 GB (Gigabyte) Bandwidth). During the course of troubleshooting, if the high network latency or low bandwidth between sites occurs to be the issue, the solution is to reduce latency or to increase bandwidth. In these cases, VMware cannot guarantee a product change to address latency or bandwidth issues.

Core Components for this operation are:
  • Single Sign On (Identity Appliance, vCenter SSO, Platform Services Controller or embedded vIDM for 7.1 and later)
  • vRealize Automation Appliance
  • Infrastructure Website
  • Infrastructure Manager Service
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Distributed  Execution Manager – Orchestrator
The following components may be distributed to high latency systems but it is not recommended:
  • Distributed Execution Manager – Worker
The following components may be distributed to the geography of the endpoint if they are in communication with:
  • Proxy Agents
