Upgrading VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.1 fails on one or more nodes with the error: PAK install failed (2133563)

Symptoms

  • Upgrading VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.1 fails on one or more nodes.
  • You see the error:

    PAK install failed

  • In the dbupgrade.log file, you see entries similar to:

    2015-09-16 12:23:05,865 ERROR [main] com.vmware.statsplatform.persistence.util.upgrade.XdbToCassandraUpgrader.upgradeKvStore - Error upgrading KV data from xDB to Cassandra: null
    java.lang.NullPointerException

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.1.

Currently, there is no resolution.
