VMware vSAN in cluster XXX in datacenter YYY does not have capacity (2074614)

  • After deleting disk groups and then disabling the VMware vSAN, a warning against the cluster is displayed which does not disappear
  • A warning persist on the summary of the earlier vSAN cluster
  • You see the error:

    VSAN datastore vsanDatastore in cluster XXX in datacenter YYY does not have capacity


This is a known issue with vSAN 5.5 GA.

The message is safe to ignore in a non vSAN cluster. You can also clear it by re-creating a cluster in vCenter server, which eliminates this message.

Note: If you are planning to re-create the cluster in vCenter Server, ensure that you validate the impact of resource pools configured within the cluster.
