  • 0 Ratings

Symptoms

When you are running VMware vSAN configured to claim storage automatically, after applying a license for vSAN you experience these symptoms:
  • Storage devices are not claimed automatically.
  • Disk groups are not created automatically.
  • vSAN fails to claim the disks.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vSAN 5.5.x.

To work around this issue, perform these steps:
  1. Change the disk claiming mode to Manual and click OK.
  2. Change the disk claiming mode back to Automatic and click OK.

    vSAN now claims disks automatically.
