Symptoms

  • When connecting to a Connection or Security Server using the View or Thin/Zero Client, you get the error:
"You are not entitled to use this system"

Cause

This issue can occur if the user account used is either not entitled to a View desktop/pool, or if pool tagging is not properly configured on all Connection Servers

Resolution

To verify if the user is entitled to a View desktop/pool:
  1. Log in to the View Admin portal
  2. Select Pools under Inventory
  3. Select the pool(s) that the user should be entitled to
  4. Verify that the user or AD group that the user is a member to is listed in the entitlements
  5. If the user or AD group that the user is a member of is not listed, add the user or group in this window

If the user entitlement is correct, ensure pool tagging is configured correctly:

  1. Log in to the View Admin portal
  2. Select Servers under View Configuration
  3. Click on the Connection Servers tab
  4. Select each Connection Server and click Edit
  5. Ensure the correct pool tagging is configured in the Tags field

For more information on Pool tagging, please the "Restricting View Desktop Access" section of the View Administration guide for the version you have deployed:
