vShield Manager Flow Monitoring statistics fill up the /common partition (2041859)
- vShield Manager Flow Monitoring statistics fill up the /common partition very quickly.
- Upgrade to vShield Manager fails.
To prevent the /common partition from filling up with the flow records, upgrade to vCloud Networking and Security version 5.1.2.
vCloud Networking and Security version 5.1.2 allows you to ignore flow records based on port number, source/destination IP, and MAC address by using the below REST API. For information on how to use the vShield REST API, see Using the vShield REST API in the vShield API Programming Guide.
Note: The vShield API Programming Guide does not contain information about the below mentioned API.
This is the URL for GET and POST operations:
This is an example of the XML that is required for the POST operation using which you can ignore the Network Traffic as desired.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Note: All the tags can be repeated in the XML to set multiple IP/MAC/Ports.
The example XML is ignoring:
- Ports: 137 and 138
- Source and Destination IP Address: 255.255.255.255
- Source and Destination MAC Address: FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
You can change what the XML ignores per your requirements.
When the POST operation is completed successfully, run the GET operation on the above URL to confirm if the values are set.
