Host profile compliance fails with error: Resource pool settings changed for group host/vim/ (2041809)

  • 8 Ratings

  • ESXi 5.0 hosts fail to comply with a host profile created in vCenter Server 5.0.
  • You see compliance messages related to resource pools similar to:

Resource pool settings changed for group host/vim/vimuser
Resource pool settings changed for group host/vim/vmvisor

Resource pool settings changed for group 'host/vim/vmvisor/plugins/vmware_int'

  • Other hosts in the cluster are incorrectly marked as non-compliant.

This issue ocurs when the creation of a host profile from a reference host captures resource pool information from pools.xml that is specific to that host.

This is a known issue affecting vCenter Server 5.0 and vCenter Server 5.0 Update 1.
The issue is resolved in vCenter Server 5.0 Update 2 and vCenter Server 5.1. You can download the latest release in the vSphere Download Center.
