  • 11 Ratings

Symptoms

When using Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), you see that there are duplicate packets or packet loss.

Cause

This issue occurs if all virtual machine portgroups in the vSphere distributed switch are not configured with compatible policies for LACP.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure that all virtual machine portgroups in the vSphere distributed switch are configured with IP hash with beaconing disabled.

Also, ensure that these settings are applied to any new portgroups that are created.

For more information, see the ESXi and vCenter Server 5.1 Documentation.
