Guest operating system customization support in vCloud Director 5.1 (2034491)

Purpose

vCloud Director 5.1 supports a wide variety of 32bit and 64bit operating systems in its virtual machine templates and as virtual machines. VMware recommends that you use virtual hardware version 9, but you can still import virtual hardware version 4 virtual machines.

This article provides a list of the available guest operating systems which are supported for Guest Customization in vCloud Director 5.1 and if Customization Support is manual or automatic.

Note: This list is not meant to be an exhaustive list of Guest operating systems supported by vCloud Director 5.1.

Resolution

A guest operating system is an operating system that runs inside a virtual machine. You can install a guest operating system in a virtual machine and control guest operating system customization for virtual machines created from vApp templates.
