How to purchase and file Pay Per Incident support for VMware products (2014035)

Purpose

This article details how to purchase Per Incident Support, which includes phone support for VMware products and how to submit Per Incident Support Requests. For more information about Per Incident Support, see VMware Per Incident Support.

Resolution

To purchase Pay Per Incident support:

  1. Go to VMware Online Store.
  2. Hover your mouse over the Support tab and select which per incident you would like to purchase and click on the link to purchase.
  3. Select the quantity of support incidents you want to purchase.

    Note: A support incident is valid only for a single support issue. When purchased, an incident cannot be credited back or refunded even if the issue is resolved without help from a Technical Support Engineer (for example, finding the answer in the product documentation or Knowledge Base or on your own). For more information, see What is Per Incident Support?.

  4. Click Add to Cart.
  5. Confirm the quantity, and enter any promo codes (if applicable).
  6. Click Secure Checkout.
  7. If you are not logged in, log in using your vmware.com credentials.
  8. Confirm your billing information and enter your credit card information.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Record the reference/order number for future reference.
  11. Click Submit to complete your order. A 20 character alpha-numeric serial number for the Pay Per Incident is provided.
Wait 5 to 10 minutes after purchasing a support incident for the order to be processed, then file a Support Request. For more information, see How to File a Support Request in My VMware (2006985).

Note: To choose the Pay Per Incident support when filing your Support Request, select a product, click + to expand the Support details. The total number of Pay Per Incident requests purchased (1, 3 or 5 pack), how many are available to use, and the expiration date display. Select the support incident and click Continue.
