Discrepancy between data returned from esxtop and resxtop run in batch mode (2008122)

Symptoms

  • When using resxtop in batch mode, values of certain CPU metrics gathered for guest VMs jump to 800%. These invalid values are not seen in resxtop in interactive (non-batch) mode nor in esxtop .
  • esxtop and resxtop when in batch mode report different values for the same parameter.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vSphere CLI 5.0 U1, available at VMware Downlaods. For more information, see the vSphere Command-Line Interface 5.0 Update 1 Release Notes.
