Clearing Fusion's recent items list in Mac OS X Lion and above (2004861)

In VMware Fusion 4.x and later, the Fusion dock icon shows a list of recent virtual machines, including one or more that have been deleted. 


To clear the list of recent virtual machines that appears when you right-click the Fusion dock icon:
  1. Start VMware Fusion.
  2. Go to File > Open Recent > Clear Menu.
  3. Quit Fusion.
  4. Restart your Mac.
  5. Launch Fusion.  
If the list of virtual machines is still appearing when you right-click the Fusion dock icon:
  1. Quit Fusion.
  2. Right-click on the Fusion icon in the dock and click Show Recents to force an update of the data from the Recent menu.

Note: This also clears any items in Fusion's File > Open Recent menu.
