Powering off a virtual machine fails with an error.  


Performing disk cleanup, cannot power off.


You cannot power off the virtual machine. 


This error occurs if you have deleted a snapshot (either manually or through backup software that triggers the delete) and the snapshot consolidate operation has not completed. 
To resolve this issue, wait until the consolidation is complete, then power off the virtual machine.
