Unable to upgrade Lab Manager from 3.x to Lab Manager 4.x (1033249)

Unable to upgrade from Lab Manager 3.x to Lab Manager 4.x because of roles, right, and vCenter issues. An error message similar to the following is displayed during the upgrade:
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint ‘RoleRight_PK’. Cannot insert duplicate key in object ‘dbo.RoleRight’


To upgrade vCenter Lab Manager from 3.x to Lab Manager 4.x, perform one of these solutions.
  • In the Lab Manager 3.x Web console, do the following:
    1. In the left pane, select Roles and Rights.
    2. Right-click View Only and select Properties.
    3. Under Machine, deselect the Navigation Bar- Activity Log option.
    4. Upgrade to vCenter Lab Manager 4.x and verify that the upgrade is successful.
  • Delete the role/right assignment from the database by running the following SQL command:
    DELETE FROM RoleRight WHERE role_id = 106 AND right_id = 328,
    which removes the Navigation Bar - Activity Log permission for the View Only role.
