Increasing the video memory on VMware View desktops (1031002)

  • 18 Ratings

This article provides the steps to increase the video memory on VMware View desktops.

To increase the video memory allocated to a VMware View desktop:

Note: Ensure that Video Adapter settings for the parent virtual machine is set to Auto-Detect before making these changes.
  1. Edit the pool settings in the VMware View Connection Server Admin portal.
  2. Increase the number of monitors and the resolution to the maximum value.
  3. Shutdown and then power on all the virtual machines in the pool using the vSphere Client.

This sets the video memory to maximum setting, between 125 MB to 128 MB.
Note: Video Memory (VRAM) does not affect RDP sessions and the above steps are only applicable for connections through PCOIP.
