Cause

This issue may occur if you select Protect container from accidental deletion when creating an Organizational Unit in Windows 2008 domains. Selecting this option means users in the Everyone group do not have permission to delete objects.

Resolution

To resolve this issue when your parent virtual machine runs Windows XP and your Active Directory runs on Windows Server 2008, apply an update patch on the Windows XP virtual machine.

Note: This update patch can be applied even if you do not have Read-Only Domain controller (RODC) in the domain.

Note: The preceding link was correct as of June 25, 2014. If you find the link is broken, provide feedback and a VMware employee will update the link.

Also, ensure that the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is set to Automatic and starts running when the deployed pool boots. The desktops will not join the domain if this service fails to start when the desktops boot.
