Unable to Ping a Virtual Machine Using the IP Address or External IP Address Displayed in the Stage Manager Web Console (1006345)

If you create a configuration with two virtual machines based on the same template, and Stage Manager deploys those virtual machines on different ESX hosts, you cannot access at least one of the virtual machines using the IP addresses or external IP addresses displayed in the Web console.


If you specify an incorrect guest operating system for a template, publish the template, and create virtual machines in a configuration based on that template, guest customization fails on one or more virtual machines.
To verify whether the inability to access virtual machines stems from the template
Make sure the correct guest operating system for the template appears in the Template Properties page.
If the template specification is incorrect, change it and recreate the configuration.
