  • Recomposing a desktop or desktop pool failswith the error:

View Composer Active Directory Authentication Error. Possibly the domain username and password used in the QuickPrep setting is incorrect

This issue occurs if the Quickprep Active Directory password has changed and the new password is not updated in the View configuration.

To resolve this issue:
  1. Navigate to View Configuration > Servers > vCenter Servers > Edit > View Composer Settings.
  2. Select the domain and click Edit.
  3. Enter the correct password.
Note: If this does not resolve the issue, the VC_CONFIG_ID value in the View Composer database may be incorrect.
To determine the correct VC_CONFIG_ID value and to update the value in the View Composer database, see Recompose or refresh of linked clone pools fail after upgrade of VMware View (1030996).
