Purpose

This article provides information about vCloud Suite 7 Entitlement and Fulfillment.

Resolution

If you have vCloud Suite 6 and are on active SnS, you are entitled to the following:

From vCloud Suite 6.0 Standard to vCloud Suite 7.0 Standard

You are entitled to and will be fulfilled with:
  • vSphere ENT+ for vCloud Suite (per CPU)
  • vRealize Suite STD 7.0 (per PLU)
  • vRealize Automation STD 7.0 (per CPU)
From vCloud Suite 6.0 Advanced to vCloud Suite 7.0 Advanced

You are entitled to and will be fulfilled with:
  • vSphere ENT+ for vCloud Suite (per CPU)
  • vRealize Suite ADV 7.0 (per PLU)
From vCloud Suite 6.0 Enterprise to vCloud Suite 7.0 Enterprise

You are entitled to and will be fulfilled with:
  • vSphere ENT+ for vCloud Suite (per CPU)
  • vRealize Suite ENT 7.0 (per PLU)
  • Site Recovery Manager 6 for vCloud Suite (per CPU)
  • vRealize Configuration Manager 5.8.2 (per CPU)
Portable licensing Unit (PLU) allows usage of vCloud Suite/vRealize Suite to manage unlimited operating system instances (OSI) deployed on on-premise vSphere CPU or up to 15 OSIs deployed on the public cloud including VMware vCloud Air, vCloud Air Network Partners, other supported public clouds, as well as third-party hypervisors and physical servers.

Due to the change in vCloud Suite 7 packaging, all existing vCloud Suite 6 customers are being fulfilled with separate license keys for existing functionality (i.e. Site Recovery Manager & vRealize Configuration Manager). For these components, the prior licensing mechanism (per CPU) is being preserved.

Note on the Upgrade Process

Existing customers will receive multiple license keys:
  • 1 for vSphere ENT+
  • 1 for vRealize Suite
  • plus 1 for vRealize Suite STD (if you own vCloud Suite 6.0 Standard)
  • plus 1 for SRM (if you own vCloud Suite 6.0 Enterprise)
When upgrading the vCloud Suite 6 key, all new keys will be delivered to the same folder as the original base key.
