Supported Update Sequence

**    Update vRealize Log Insight content packs, if required. 
***  Update vRealize Operations management packs, if required.

• Prior to upgrade, NSX for vSphere must be migrated to NSX. For more information, see VMware vSphere 8.0 Release Notes.
• Prior to upgrade, vRealize products must be updated or migrated to version 8.x.
• If upgrading from vSphere 6.7 with NSX, NVDS to CVDS migration is required. To migrate from NVDS to CVDS, you must first upgrade to vSphere 7.0 Update 2 or higher along with NSX 3.1.x or higher. vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and vSphere Distributed Switch must be upgraded for NVDS to CVDS migration.  For more information, see Migrate Host Switch to vSphere Distributed Switch .
• vSphere 8.0 deprecates certificates with weak signature algorithms, such as SHA1 and MD5. For more information, see Upgrading vCenter Server or ESXi 8.0 fails during precheck due to a weak certificate signature algorithm (89424)
• Certain Spherelet versions from 7.0.x vCenter are not compatible with 8.0 ESXi. Affected WCP Cluster upgrades need to be performed prior to vSphere 8.0 upgrades. For more information, see vSphere with Tanzu's ESXi worker nodes stuck in Not Ready state after upgrade to version 8.0 (89787)
• If Horizon 8 is part of your environment, refer to Update sequence for Horizon 7, Horizon 8, and compatible VMware products (78445)

• If you need to update multiple products in your environment, start with updating the product with the lowest sequence number. After you update the product, update the product with the next sequence number.
• If a product is not present in your environment, update the subsequent product.
• If you need to update two products with the same sequence number, the order of update does not matter.
• If a product is managed by vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, the minimum version may be dictated by vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
