It is possible to have a false positive within a Skyline Advisor Pro Finding. We do are best to make sure all scenario are covered when creating a finding, however sometimes certain scenarios are missed or fixes are released which we have not accounted for.

Resolution

The proper way to inform the Skyline team about any false positive within a Skyline Advisor Pro Finding is through the feedback feature within the product. Please see this documentation for more details - Provide Feedback.

Currently have the following active findings which we are in the process of being fixing:

Last Updated: January 23rd, 2023.

vROPS API fails to return build numbers on versions 8.6.0 to 8.10.0. This will cause false positives on vROPS based rules that fall between these versions.

Skyline Collector is currently unable to determine if a customer is configured for either vSAN ESA or vSAN OSA

Additional Information

Please note that after making a change to remediate a finding a new collection needs to take place. Collections for Skyline Advisor Pro happens every 4 hours. To learn more about the different collections please see - https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/71071

Also please note that if your collector is offline or your endpoints are disconnected then your findings will not be remediated. The Skyline Findings Engine only runs off new collected data. To learn more about the different states of the collector please see - https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/75268
