Explain the process required to enable this feature.

Symptoms:
Request to have the TRIM/UNMAP feature enabled. 

Resolution

Please open a support ticket with the VMC support team to enable this feature: How do I get support
Please include the following in the support ticket:
  • Organization ID
  • SDDC ID
  • Cluster(s) needing TRIM/UNMAP enabled

Correlating VMware Cloud on AWS with Component Releases

Impact/Risks:

TRIM/UNMAP is only available on SDDCs version 1.18v12 or 1.20v4 or greater.
TRIM/UNMAP is enabled on a per-cluster basis.
TRIM/UNMAP requires a reboot of workload VMs post-feature enablement for the space reclamation to begin.
