Issue/Introduction

To stop the  false alerts.

Symptoms:
  • Repeated alarms in 7.0 VC "vSphere Health detected new issues in your environment"
  • In Skyline Health tab all are showing in Green

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x

Cause

Even if health checks are silenced it can still generate alarms when the automatic data collection runs.

Resolution

This is resolved in vCenter Server Update 3i (build number 20395100).

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, perform any of the below workarounds

1. Address the yellow health checks as described in the respective KB articles so that they disappear or turn green <- This is the preferred option

2. Unsilence the silenced health checks and click Acknowledge on the alarm. The health checks will still appear yellow in the Skyline Health view but they will not trigger the alarm again. The alarm should be triggered again only if there are new yellow or red health checks discovered on a subsequent run in the future - new health checks are added all the time  in which case  either address the problem or acknowledge the alarm.

3. Disable the alarm in the Alarm Definitions menu.
