Issue/Introduction

Description on how to handle the above two alarms

Symptoms:
Various vSAN Health Alarms present in Cloud vCenter UI:

vSAN health alarm 'vSAN disk balance'
vSAN health alarm 'After 1 additional host failure'

Cause

These transient vSAN Health Alarms generally appear when the cluster is utilized above 60%.

Resolution

The alerts can be safely ignored.
Since VMC on AWS is a managed offering, these alarms are transient in nature and do not pose an issue.

  • VMC SDDCs will automatically rebalance the vSAN disks once a capacity disk reaches 80% usage. Rebalance thresholds cannot be configured on VMC
  • VMC SDDCs also are dynamic in nature and will scale-out or in as required, meaning the 'After 1 additional host failure` alert is non-actionable
