Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on how to deploy NSX Autonomous Edge on vSphere 7.

Symptoms:
NSX Autonomous Edge deployment fails on vSphere 7 with the error below.
The following required extra configurations in the OVF package are not allowed for the deployment: [sched.mem.pin]

Resolution

This issue will be resolved in a future release.

Workaround:

"nsx-autonomous-edge-2.5.1.0.0.14991196.ovf" needs to be modified as below.
Note: please copy and rename the ovf file as a backup before you make a change.

1. Replace the line that sets "sched.mem.pin" with this:
<vmw:Config ovf:required="false" vmw:key="memoryReservationLockedToMax" vmw:value="true"/>

2. Save the ovf file.

3. Select the 2 files below in the "Select an OVF template" menu.
- nsx-autonomous-edge.vmdk
- nsx-autonomous-edge-2.5.1.0.0.14991196.ovf
