Issue/Introduction

This article provides information why you are unable to perform migration from cloud to on-premise with the vCenter Cloud Gateway Appliance.

Symptoms:
You are unable to perform migration from cloud to on-premise with the following conditions.
  • Established Hybrid Linked Mode with the vCenter Cloud Gateway Appliance.
  • Performing migration from cloud to on-premise by a user from the on-premise local domain (e.g. [email protected]).
  • You can view inventories both on-premise and cloud when attempting a migration, however, you cannot select on-premise resources as the destination within the "Select a compute resource" with the error similar to:
The object 'vim.ResourcePool:resgroup-***' has already been deleted or has not been completely created


Cause

vCenter Cloud Gateway ApplianceĀ blocks the ability to perform this operation for users with the same name as an existing user in the local default Single Sign-On domain (e.g. vsphere.local) by the reason to prevent privilege problem.

Resolution

Active Directory users whose group is mapped to CloudAdmins group will be able to perform this operation.
