Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • When the domain name in the username is not lower case, authorization is denied for the user.
  • This issue happens only when the domain name is upper case or mixed case.
  • This issue come with LDAP authentication and authorization.


Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x
VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

This issue is resolved in NSX-T Data Center 3.0.2

Workaround:
To resolve this issue,
  1. Delete all the older role bindings with upper and mixed cases.
  2. Use all lower-case characters in the domain name field of the LDAP Identity Source configuration.
  • System > Users and Roles > LDAP > Edit.
  • Make the Domain Name field all lower-case.
  1. Recreate the role bindings.
