Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Logging into the vCloud Director Tenant portal fails with the above error after upgrading to vCloud Director 9.5.x
  • This issue occurs if the 'Default Rights Bundle' is not published to all tenants

Environment

VMware Cloud Director for Service Provider 9.x
VMware Cloud Director for Service Provider 9.5.x

Cause

The Organisation is missing the required rights to allow logins to the vCloud Director Tenant.

Resolution

To resolve this issue a set of rights need to be published to the affected Organization. This can either be the default rights bundle or a custom bundle of rights. This can be done in the Provider portal using the steps below.

To apply the default rights bundle:
  1. Login to the vCloud Director 'Provider' portal.
  2. Click Administration > Rights Bundles and click the 'Default Rights Bundle' radio button.
  3. Click Publish and select either a specific tenant or all tenants to publish the rights bundle to those Organizations.
To apply a custom rights bundle:
  1. Login to the vCloud Director 'Provider' portal.
  2. Click Administration > Rights Bundles and click Add.
  3. Enter a name, optional description, and select the desired rights for this bundle.
  4. Click Save to create the new bundle.
  5. Click the radio button next to the target bundle.
  6. Click Publish and select either a specific tenant or all tenants to publish the rights bundle to those Organizations.
