Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • vRSLCM deployment fails at the task "Import vRealize Log Insight into vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager Environments".
  • The vRealize Log Insight VMs are reachable from SDDC Manager and the vRSLCM VM.
  • The vRealize Log Insight VM FQDN is resolvable only from SDDC manager.
  • Errors similar to below are observed in the /var/log/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/domainmanger.log:

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 3.7.x

Cause

This issue occurs if the vRSLCM VM cannot reach the external DNS server configured.

Resolution

Before initiating the vRLCM deployment, make sure that the traffic is allowed between the dedicated network created for vRealize deployment and the external DNS server.

Ensure that the vRLCM can resolve all the vRealize components FQDN and IP.
