Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Attempt to refresh CA certificates fails.
  • In HTML5 client it shows:
Operation failed!
Task name: Refresh the CA certificates on the host
Target Status: A general system error occurred: Unable to push CA certificates and CRLs to host xxxxxxxxxx
  • In Flex client it shows:
Error

An internal error has occurred - Error #1009.
 
Reloading the client is recommended, so as to clear any problems left by this error.
 
Click Yes to reload the vSphere Web Client?

Environment

Cause

This issue occurs if the hosts are in Maintenance Mode.

Resolution

To solve the issue, exit the affected host from maintenance mode.

Note: Please check the KB "A general system error occurred: Unable to push CA certificates and CRLs to host", Adding or Reconnecting 6.7 ESXi host to vCenter Server fails if you are facing same issue for hosts which are out of maintenance mode.
