Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
If VMRC is moved to a monitor with a different DPI configuration, by right-clicking the mouse, you see this symptom:

The actual position of the mouse is not where the cursor is shown.

Cause

This issue occurs because the current VMRC (10.0.4) is not configured to accept per-monitor level DPI changing event. This results in VMRC not able to adjust itself due to the DPI change.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:
  1. Locate the vmrc.exe file, which is installed into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Vmware\VMware Remote Console" by default.
  2. Right click on the vmrc.exe file and select "Properties".
  3. Select the "Compatibility" tab.
  4. Click the "Change high DPI settings".
  5. Check the option "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application".
Upgrade the VMRC to 11 to avoid this problem.
