FAQs

When was the End of Availability (EOA) of vSphere Enterprise and vSphere with Operations Management Enterprise?
On February 9th, 2016, VMware announced the End of Availability of all versions of vSphere Enterprise and vSOM Enterprise effective June 30, 2016. After June 30, 2016, vSphere Enterprise and vSOM Enterprise were no longer available for purchase.

Can customers renew vSphere Enterprise and vSphere Enterprise that was included in the vSOM Enterprise edition?
Yes. Customers who are active on Support and Subscription Services will continue to be entitled to future minor or major releases of the vSphere Enterprise edition per the terms of their SnS agreement. Renewals will continue to quote SnS for these customers for future releases (6.x, 7.x)

Is there a specific EOGS date for the vSphere Enterprise Edition?
No, there is not a specific End of General Support (EOGS) date for the vSphere Enterprise Edition. EOGS dates are not based on the product edition (Std, ENT, ENT+). They are based on the product version (6.0, 6.5, 6.7, 6.x, 7.x).

Is there a specific EOGS date for the vSphere Enterprise VS6-ENT SKU?
No, there is not a specific End of General Support (EOGS) date for SKUs. EOGS dates are based on the product version (6.0, 6.5, 6.7, 6.x). The VS6 SKU is not version specific.  The VS6-ENT SKU is for vSphere 6.x versions including 6.0, 6.5, and 6.7.

How do I determine the EOGS date for a specific version of vSphere Enterprise?
To determine the End Of General Support (EOGS) for vSphere, refer to the EOGS date for the particular vSphere version on the VMware Lifecycle Product Matrix found here. For example, the EOGS date for vSphere ENT, ENT+ and STD 6.0 is 3/12/2020 which is listed on the VMware Lifecycle Product Matrix for ESXi 6.0.
