Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • After upgrading to vRealize Automation 7.5, the storage grid under Reservation is not populate
  • Messages similar to the following can be found in Catalina.out:
[component="cafe:iaas-proxy" priority="ERROR" thread="tomcat-http--53" tenant="rainpole" context="yPPDPAUm" parent="" token="yPPDPAUm"] com.vmware.vcac.iaas.schema.reservation.VirtualReservationElementValuesProvider.getStorages:336 - Failed to load host with id {}


Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.5.x

Cause

This is a known issue affecting vRealize Automation 7.x environments upgraded to 7.5.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps on all vRealize Automation appliances:

  1. Log into vRealize Automation using SSH.
  2. Run the command:
service vcac-server restart

Alternative stop and start command:

vcac-vami service-manage stop vco-server vcac-server horizon-workspace elasticsearch
vcac-vami service-manage start elasticsearch horizon-workspace hzn-dots vcac-server vco-server

Note: The above commands will stop then start all dependent services in the necessary order.

  1. Wait for all services to change to REGISTERED.
Service Validation:
  • Open a browser tab to https://vRAApplianceFQDN:5480
  • Login using root credentials
  • Review service registrations under vRA Settings > Services
Alternatively,
  • The following URI can be used to load an XML definition of registration states:
https://vRAApplianceFQDN/component-registry/services/status/current?limit=100


The storage grid should now be populated.
