This article provides information on how to configure vCenter Server to use a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 8.0
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.x
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.x

Resolution

To configure vCenter Server to use a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server:
  1. Access the vCenter Server Appliance Web Console (VAMI) through a web browser:

    https://vCenter_IP:5480
     
  2. Log in as root.
  3. Select Time.
  4. Navigate to Time Synchronization.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Under Mode, select NTP.
  7. Type in the NTP server(s) on Time servers.
  8. Click SAVE
