VMware announced the End of Availability (EOA) of NSX Enterprise on June 5th, 2018.
As a result, all versions of NSX Enterprise were removed from the VMware price list. Per VMware’s life cycle policy, support and maintenance for NSX Enterprise will continue until the end of the published support period.
With the EOA of NSX Enterprise, VMware has introduced NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus. VMware encourages customers currently using NSX Enterprise to convert their licenses to the new NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus.
Who is eligible for a conversion to VMware NSX Enterprise Plus?
As a result, all versions of NSX Enterprise were removed from the VMware price list. Per VMware’s life cycle policy, support and maintenance for NSX Enterprise will continue until the end of the published support period.
With the EOA of NSX Enterprise, VMware has introduced NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus. VMware encourages customers currently using NSX Enterprise to convert their licenses to the new NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus.
Who is eligible for a conversion to VMware NSX Enterprise Plus?
- Existing NSX Enterprise with vRealize Network Insight Advanced customers who would like to get NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus
- Existing NSX Enterprise with vRealize Network Insight Enterprise customers who would like to get NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus
- NSX Enterprise customers with vRealize Network Insight Advanced must have active SnS for both products and the same number of NSX ENT licenses (per CPU or CCU) and vRNI ADV licenses (per CPU or CCU) to initiate the conversion process.
- NSX Enterprise customers with vRealize Network Insight Enterprise must have active SnS for both products and the same number of NSX ENT licenses (per CPU or CCU) and vRNI ENT licenses (per CPU or CCU) to initiate the conversion process.
- Customer needs to have same license type as the conversion is only done from Commercial to Commercial or Academic to Academic or Federal to Federal license types.
- The NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus license delivered by VMware through the conversion process will be added to the existing NSX or vRNI contract with the latest SnS end date.
If you are an eligible customer to get a conversion to VMware NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus, you must follow the next steps:
1. Open a non-technical ticket using the option available in Customer Connect
2. A Customer Support representative will contact you to get information on the licenses you wish to convert and complete the conversion form.
3. After the form is completed, the Customer Support representative will send it to you to be signed.
4. Once the form has been signed, the Customer Support representative will start the process to convert your licenses. Please note the process can take up to 30 days.
5. The Customer Support representative will let you know once the licenses have been converted via email, additionally an automatic notification will be generated to the email address register in VMware systems, indicating the existing licenses has been upgraded to VMware NSX Data Center Enterprise Plus.
